Writing a Will

Marlow Wills will take your instructions, either face to face if you’re in the Marlow area, or by Zoom or phone if you’re elsewhere in England and Wales, at a time to suit you. The appointment usually only takes half an hour for a standard will so long as you’re able to provide some basic information in advance, but we won’t rush you; you can take as long as you need.
Once we’ve established your requirements and offered appropriate advice, we’ll prepare the draft within 3 working days for you to check and approve (or provide any amendments). At the same time, we provide a plain English breakdown of each clause, together with information about the secure storage we recommend.
When you are happy with your will, the hard copy will be printed out and posted to you first class together with detailed instructions about the correct signing and witnessing procedures. If you’re local, we can come out to you to witness your signature but if you’re elsewhere we will check the signature clause by email. It’s only at that point you will be charged.
The procedure is very client friendly; we don’t baffle you with legalese, and appointments can take place in the evening if that’s easier for you.
